Look, up in the sky: It's a bird, it's a plane! No it's.. Supergirl!! This fall, Supergirl will be joining the lineup of burgeoning superheroes and villains in " Smallville.." Supergirl is the latest DC Comics character to join the series that has previously welcomed Martian Manhunter, The Green Arrow, The Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg and Brainiac.. Casting for the Supergirl role is currently underway..When Smallville returns for its seventh season this fall it will be revealed that Clark Kent ( Tom Welling ) is not the only member of his family to survive the destruction of the planet Krypton..
Kara, a teenager when Krypton exploded, was sent to Earth by her father, Zor - El ( Kal - El’s uncle ) at the same time as baby Kal - El, to look after her younger cousin.. But there was a problem and while in suspended animation for the past 16 years, she didn’t age and now it’s Clark who must be the mentor.. We’ll find out in the season premiere that the big dam break in last season’s finale is the reason she’s finally awoken..
She has all of Clark's powers and a couple he doesn't have yet.. Why? Well we all know that girls mature more faster than boys..
Kara will help Clark get in touch with his Kryptonian roots.. With his ( Adopted ) father dead and his ( Adopted ) mother moved to Washington ( To become a U.S. Senator ), and Lana blown up, suddenly there’s some family in his life.. Kara also has a strong, rebellious streak that puts her at odds with Clark, and puts her onto Lex's ( Michael Rosenbaum ) radar.. In addition, she takes a romantic interest in Jimmy Olsen ( Aaron Ashmore ).. In other words, she will be busy.." Smallville " will need her lift as it begins its seventh season..
Kara makes her debut in the season premiere of " Smallville " and will appear in about half of this season’s episodes.. And I hate to disappoint fellow fans of the show, but the seventh season, could be it's last..
