National Treasure: Book of Secrets..
The whole treasure - huntin' gang is back in National Treasure: Book of Secrets.. This time around the plot details with the search of infamous assassin John Wilkes Booth's missing diary pages, and it'll bring our secret - crackers from London to D.C. to Mount Rushmore in an effort to decipher some ancient historical silliness.. Could be a fun enough flick come December.. Nic Cage’s Gates character tackles a conspiracy surrounding the assassination of America’s greatest president, Abraham Lincoln..
In trying to clear his family's name, Ben gathers his team of fellow treasure hunters, historian Abigail Chase and the hilarious Riley Poole, who embark on a worldwide adventure that takes them from breaking into the Buckingham Palace in the pursuit of clues, to the stealing of a page from the esoteric Book of Secrets in the President's Oval office, and ultimately leads them to discovering one of the greatest hidden treasure mysteries of our time..
With the original cast of the first installment all coming back for National Treasure 2, this can only augur well for dynamic, fluent character interaction as the on - set chemistry is already prominent and has been well established from their prior interrelationships on the set of the first film.. The only exception being, Sean Bean's character ( Ian Howe ) who was put in jail in the first film.. Sadly, I felt that he is one of a few actors who can play the villainous role perfectly as seen in previous movies like The Hitcher and Silent Hill.. Despite this loss, National Treasure 2 signed a new antagonist to hinder Nicolas Cage's endeavors - the veteran, and widely acclaimed actor Ed Harris who plays Jeb Wilkinson's character.. Harris' prior experience in playing the villain in several movies like A History of Violence and The Rock will without a doubt produce a great confrontational dynamic between his and Cage's hero character..
National Treasure: Book of Secrets is released on 21st December 2007.. But til then you can check out the trailer here..
